The Blue Flower Project Organization

I have recently been reading some of the human resources publications, and I came across mention of something that I think might be very useful for our organization. They had an article about Human Resources Metrics. Can anyone tell me whether or not there is a good software program that could help us do the calculations necessary for this sort of thing? It would also be nice to get some ideas of what sort of figures would be the most useful. I would like to find out enough about it so that I can bring it up at our next departmental meeting.
