Travroutes new Co-Pilot

Another entry in the satellite maps category is Travroutes’ new Co-Pilot. It also includes a CD-ROM and a portable GPS receiver that connects to a laptop for on-screen navigation while you drive, and it shepherds you with voice commands. But if you happen to miss a turn or encounter heavy traffic, its Dynamic Directions function automatically reroutes the trip to get you on your way.Even better, Co-Pilot understands specific voice commands, so you can ask it, “Where am I?” and receive a verbal response. For safety there’s a Driver Mode that darkens the screen when speeds exceed 5 mph. This keeps the driver from glancing at the screen. Its passenger mode, however, allows for full viewing. The software contains street and highway information for the Lower 48.
