What to Expect During the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
Taking the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is a major event in the lives of most college-bound students. Most students take it as high school juniors or seniors. Their future college admissions decisions, and sometimes even their future employment, will be affected by their score on the scholastic aptitude test. The test is not short; you can expect that it will take 3 hours and 45 minutes, not including breaks between sections of the test. The test is divided up into three parts: critical reading, mathematics, and writing. Each is scored on a scale of 200 to 800. There are many helps, including the PSAT and SAT software to help students prepare for the Scholastic Aptitude Test.
